On Spektrum, I needed to reverse the pitch and roll, but that's probably different with FRSky. I can try to walk you through the osd setup, but you will have no way of knowing which channels need to be reversed/changed. Could you barrow a pair form a local hobbyshop or friend? You need a monitor/goggles of some sort in order to get started. That's one of the downfalls with the OSD setup process. (For the Vortex 285, use the NAZE Firmware instead of IRCF3, as this is for the Vortex 250 pro) Let me know if you need help!

This is why you get so many different firmware options when trying to update firmware. Clean/Betaflight configurators are made to configure the flight controllers of a wide range of quads.

The Vortex Chrome app was made as a specific updater for the line of Vortex's OSD, as well as changing some VTX related settings, (People using mac could now update their firmware with this app). The Vortex Configurator (windows) was originally made for updating and configuring IRC's other products, like the EZOSD. (Thank you for taking your first steps with a Hubsan!) There has to be so many tools for one reason, compatability. Welcome to the hobby! :) One thing that I must point out, The Vortex's are not a necessarily a newbie quad. Why is this so? Turns out that the frustration piles up and I really wonder if I should not sell everything and stop wasting my few evenings.

So I would be very grateful if you have a set of detailed instructions (in english or german) for a newbie of how to install cleanflight or betaflight (all is fine for me) and make the cleanflight or betaflight configuration accessible to me. I also send an email to the retailer but he is on holiday for some weeks. I have posted at fpvlab but I did not get a copy and can not see the post so I am not sure if this was successful. I understand that many in the community are constantly tweaking but there should be some newbies like me who wade through tons of fragmented information and still can not figure out how to get started. I really wonder why there has to be so many tools (vortex configurator, betaflight configurator, several drivers, cleanflight configurator, all kinds of hex-files and undates and not a single simple, newbie bullet-proof way just to get to the maiden flight. The result is that I can not get all together to be able to configure the flight control.

What ever instructions I find on youtube or on fpvlab etc., there is always a step missing or so natural to a pro that it is missing. But spending evenings to find clear newbie information about how to set up the cleanflight or betaflight is not what I had in mind with bying a RTF. Thanx.The Vortex 285 is my first real racer after frist steps with a cheap Hubsan. If you ever have testing or reviews you need done, my son and I would love to try out and review new quads and features. Cool features like there are for every other type of flight controller and quad. When will other Add-ons b e coming out to hook into all those ports on the PDB? Like real GPS and maybe sonar, or a useable barometer. And I wish there was something I could do to make him happy and satisfied with it like he hoped to be. He's a great pilot and chose the 285 ARF over many other frames and build possibilities. In all, I love ImmersionRc products, but the Vortex 285 was mainly a "let down" for my son and I. All there's left is a Glider Tune for some reason. Most features disappear and PID pro tunes. And once firmware is updated, the OSD isn't as great. And it would have been nice to know that it didn't cone with the new F3 Fusion Gen 2 board. The metal clip inside that is suppose to hold it in place isn't enough. Is some cases it comes out partially abs shorts, causing it to start smoking. It doesn't take much for the video Transmitter inside to come loose and dislodge from the PDB.
